stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 2)

Thanks Katy, I did it :grinning: so much quicker.

I know it was so incredibly annoying haha xx

Haha. This is where my idleness pays off. I havenā€™t experienced the problem to which you refer because I keep the forum tab open in the browser on my media tablet or use the app on my phone - (which is annoying to edit posts but thatā€™s another story). :joy:
Weā€™ve just been to a Water Park that weā€™ve not been to for months (years?). Had a windy walk (me) then a mugatea and a slice of carrot cake - one if our 5 a day  - in the car watching the birds on the lake. A woman, mistaking my car for hers, despite it being a different make, shape and shade of grey, opened the front passenger door and was mortified when she saw me and then OH in the back. I laughed and offered her a mugatea. Sheā€™s probably still cringing

Oh my goodness how embarrassing haha were you and OH in the backseat??? Have laughed and laughed.
Ali you will be super pleased to know that you qualify for the silent choir, we perform all over benchland and are quite famous now xx

Or perhaps infamous?? Xx

Ooh Iā€™d love that Katy! :grinning: Jcj you do make me laugh, it always happens to you. :joy: Thank you for cheering me up after a tough day at school both of you. xx

No I wasnā€™t in the back seat. I was in the driverā€™s seat. OH always sits in the back because heā€™s a neurotic passenger! To be fair to the woman, she was chatting to another couple, who were de-booting and getting into another car, near ours, so she wasnā€™t really looking where she was going. I watched her approach. It was one of those wonderful moments when you knew what was going to happen. If Iā€™d thought quick enough, I could have opened my door or something to alert her but we all had a good laugh so no harm done.

Welcome to the silent choir, Ali. We have an extensive repertoire including some specially adapted carols. The ā€œuniformā€ is: ballgown in an obnoxiously vibrant colour; 40 fleeces (for negotiating all temperature situations/hot/cold flushes); tiara and doc martens - preferably purple and/or with sparkly adornments. You may, from time to time, be expected to dance, skate, synchronised swim or dive as the occasion demands.

And I hope your spelling is excellent for writing with sparklers. No, Katy, it definitely wasnā€™t me writing the rude words. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is my ballgown for the upcoming extravaganza!
As soon as I saw it I knew it had to be mineā€¦xx

Am still cackling with laughter at you and OH in the backseat haha.
Ali I have no idea what we are singing or what the extravaganza will be, sometimes itā€™s difficult to know as we are all singing silently and sometimes there is no script.
JCJ, we all know it was you xx

This is mine. Shall we have a silent choir concert and a silent, invisible fireworks display? We could cook alliburgers (definitely NOT Ali burgers :scream:) on the bonfire.

Oh my goodness JCJ, that is the most beautiful dress I have ever seen, you shall be gliding around the invisible firework display, no sparklers please, not with that dressā€¦
Are the alliburgers invisible too?

Arrived home yesterday, early afternoon, it was great because went to supermarket first (essentials) then home. No chippie visit, am not enjoying just now at all. mmmmm
Had an appointment in town today, then went into a couple of charity shops, found a book that has just recently been released that I wanted to read so was very pleased, woo hoo!!
Dull here today but no rain, thank goodness, happy days xx

Hope you are enjoying the book, Katy.
Iā€™m currently sitting in the car outside the U3a film club because, at last, heā€™s decided to go. Iā€™m keeping everything crossed that nobody looks at him funny or does anything to upset him. I so want this to work so that once a month he has somewhere to go and like minded people to talk to. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:
We have some sunshine today. Wonderful after rain and grey skies for what feels like months. It is because I put my sandals away, yesterday, and got my boots out. Youā€™re welcome .
I went for a walk while he was in his film but, after replanting all my tubs this am, Iā€™m worn out and my hips/a**e muscles hurt so I decided to come back and sit in the car.
Wish Iā€™d brought a flask and some milk: I have emergency tea bags in the glove box!

You can always chew on the teabag hahahaha.
Hope OH has enjoyed, you can be more organised next time, maybe visit cafe if there are any near.
Am going to have to buy a new phone arrrgh, just this week noticed battery is running out super quickly and pages keep freezing which is so annoying. Will check out tomorrowā€¦
When at YDā€™s bought some crisps ooh they were so tasty so went on the hunt today, no shops nearby had them!! Will check in town tomorrow.
Not started book yet, am also off on a jaunt soon so am keeping for journey etc. When are you off JCJ?
Have you had your hair cut? xx

Hair is chopped. She took quite a lot off because it was super tangly. Not sure I like it but it will grow back.
Iā€™m off on my mini break a week on Monday. Ten days time. I canā€™t wait!! So excited. Trying not to worry about how OH and Nephew will get on. Keep telling myself itā€™s not my problem.
He enjoyed the film yesterday but came out saying, ā€œthere was nobody there who Iā€™d be friends withā€. Arggghh!! :rage: That. Is. Exactly. Your. Problem. It was the first week. You watched a film in silence. And if you were giving off that vibe, nobody will want to be friends!! :speak_no_evil::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
:woman_in_lotus_position:t2:Iā€™m going away soon
:woman_in_lotus_position:t2:Iā€™m going aways soon
:woman_in_lotus_position:t2:Iā€™m going away soon.
Gorgeous sunshine today, although cold in the shade. It was so lovely, when I hung the washing out, that I went and made a coffee and brought it outside to sit in the sun. Pity the people at the back are playing music and revving a strimmer.

Woo hoo for your time away not long now!
At least OH will be with someone he knows well, fingers crossed it works out and he loves it. Hopefully he will enjoy the cinema more next time and make friends.
Do have my new phone hurrah, just getting used to the new screen etc. Small booklet stated i should scan the code for a quick start. Ok so tried and tried and it wouldnt work so googled how do i do this?? 10 seconds later all starting to work properly love how google etc tells you everything haha or i would still be sitting waitingā€¦
Rain on and off today but missed it every time hurrah that must be a first.
ED is off on holiday tomorrow kids are super excited xx

OH and nephew donā€™t know each other that well. We only get together for weddings and funeralsā€¦ apart from a few family camping gatherings when the cousins were all young. But at least heā€™s not a complete stranger.

Iā€™m in the car waiting for OH who wants ā€œ5 minutes on the piano before we go.ā€ That was 10 minutes ago and I hate that piano! Tempted to just go shopping without him. This time next weekā€¦:grin:ā€¦oh. Iā€™ll be on my way back home.

Trying to finish knitting my cardi so I can wear it on my mini break. Weather looks promising but probably not very warm.
New Internet tomorrow so if I disappearā€¦! :thinking:Openreach are telling me to plug in the new router by 8am but broadband telling me to wait until old BB stops working. Iā€™m confused . I hope BB stops nearer to 8am than midnight and the dilemma will be solved. :crossed_fingers:

Still waiting for OH. I knew it wouldnā€™t be ā€œ5 minutesā€ :rage:

Are you still waiting in car???
Or did you finally manage to get your shopping?
Well, they will either get on very well or he will never suggest he can come againā€¦lets hope they are fine.
Went into town today, did plan to go in tomorrow but thought will just get it over and done with. Halfway down the road realised why i had planned for Thursday, to pick up prescriptions arrgh. Went into chemist and they said if i could come back in 1/2 an hour they would be ready woo hoo!!
Its very cold here brrr.
Hope all works well with broadband, fingers crossed. Xx

I hope you enjoy your break, Jcj. You deserve it after a tough time. Is the broadband working?
Iā€™m exhausted, this week I did Tuesday and Wednesday in school as teacher was in meetings all day. I slept all day Thursday. Yesterday I still wasnā€™t firing on all cylinders and I sent the children to do their follow up work without teaching the lesson first! Thank goodness for the T.A. Two weeks to go!
Hope you donā€™t get too cold Katy!

He did join me in the car. Eventually. Shopping was done.

New broadband and phone now working but Thursday was a mare of a day!! :weary:

Anxiously awaiting router switching off so I could install the new one, when my phone rang: the hospital to arrange my ā€œurgentā€ dermatology appointment. 2pm Friday (ie the next day!) Argghhh! :scream: At the hospital that is 45 minutes drive away with impossible parking and no sensible public transport. Noooooo!

Still stressing about that when I noticed the router was off. All systems go to swap them over. Stupid 2-part plug which I struggled to assemble. Power light didnā€™t come on. Faff with plug for 20 minutes, asking OH to help and googling. Decided to have a coffee. Kettle wouldnā€™t boil. Ah. Power off. This sometimes happens when the washer dryer decides to switch the dryer on by itself. It always trips the electrics so I never use the dryer. So thatā€™s why the router went off!

As I was in the garage turning the power back on, phone call from police: They want to return ESā€™s van. :sob: We canā€™t have the rest of his things until after the inquest, provisionally scheduled for January, but itā€™s costing them to store the van so they want rid. I donā€™t think I can cope having it on our drive. Thereā€™s just about room to get my car past it but I donā€™t want the constant reminder. :sob::sob::sob: We canā€™t sell it until we have probate: months away.

Back to installing new router (whilst sobbing). WiFi up and running. Phone works fine for outgoing calls but not incoming (tested using my and OHā€™s mobiles). Spent next few hours watching how to videos from new provider and trying to contact help via online chat. Gave up waiting for an actual person. Decided to wait to see if it fixed itself. Later on, had a brainwave and switched off the blocker function on the BT handset. Bingo!! All working fine. We even get caller display and the answer phone works - which I wasnā€™t expecting. Result!! :tada:

What a day!!

Friday morning, I got an email from Z** apologising for not having an available technician, yesterday and asking if I had resolved the problem. Wow! That is already better customer service than we had with previous provider! And the WiFi is twice as fast. And cheaper. Also saving Ā£40 on phone. Win. Win. Win.

Spent most of the day schlepping to the hospital. 50 minute drive to supermarket over a mile from hospital. 25 minute walk. Skin abnormality confirmed as nothing to worry about. No biopsy needed at this time. Photos taken for future reference. Told I did the right thing to get it investigated and to go back to Drā€™s for another referral if it grows/changes. Phew!

As I was driving back down the motorway, I remembered that same drive, nearly 13 years ago, on my own, after my mammo referral appointment. So glad not to be in tears again this time!!

OH offered to come with me today but I had to tell him to stay at home: he would have trebled the, already high, stress level. He canā€™t cope with motorways - or even if I drive faster than 50mph - and wouldnā€™t have been able to walk so would have had to stay at the supermarket and Iā€™d have been worried about HIM. Pointless.

Iā€™m on the k bench today!!
