Up all nighters..........

Blast I didn’t expect to be here tonight. Thinking of everybody else sleeping peacefully but deserving to.

I was awake last night but head was a bit addled from the piriton and hydrocortisone and lack of Internet in the bedroom… But yay!!! Last chemo been done and now just waiting for the SEs to kick in.

Hope your all getting a better sleep tonight

Love Lulu xx

There seem to be regular all nighters who post on this thread, but the sleep fairy has visited all of you. What have I done to keep her away??? No I am glad you are all in the Land of Nod, it is just I would like some natural kip too. Ah well back to the DVDs and hoping I don’t waken the old man bless him. I think my insomnia was something that developed during chemo, and has become a habit now. Is there an equivalent thing to nicotine patches for the sleepless? Old habits die hard.

The sleep fairy has deserted me too Cackles. I’m going to try and get some shuteye soon. Last night it was 3.30 before I got off to sleep and I woke again at just after 5.30…tossed and turned for an hour and then slept till 11.00! I wish I could get out of this ridiculous sleep cycle…but, who’d get up early by choice on these freezing cold mornings? I like the house to be warmed through before I put a toe out of bed. Must try and change my body clock though before spring, I don’t want to waste lovely spring days being in bed half the day.

Enjoy your DVD’s and hope your eyes get heavy soon.

Sleep well everyone.

I can’t sleep tonight either. Horrible stomach cramps and running to the toilet. I think it is something I ate for tea. OH fell asleep downstairs an hour ago and I don’t want to wake him. At the moment I am feeling sick and tired of feeling sick and tired!

Libby the eyes are heavy as is the body…here’s hoping!!!

Soupertrouper I have just seen your post. You poor thing. I hope it gets better soon. Have you any codeine, that might help?

Cackles no codeine only imodium.

Blast, codeine would stop the cramp. I used co-codamol during chemo so have lots. if you have a tramadol it might help. The Imodium is good but perhaps not as fast working. Hope you can get some sleep you poor thing.

mornin all
quite a few up-all-nighters around today - hope everyone manages a bit of kip soon, & in the meanwhile we could all close our eyez & imagine being on a lovely warm beach … or take more drugs!

I tried sleep Norberte, to no avail unfortunately!

Think I’ll lay my head AGAIN, imagine the lovely warm beach AND take more drugs, should do the trick depending what drugs I have.

Sleep well everyone.

p.s. Hope you feel better in the morning ST.

Morning & bigs hugs for several of you who have had a lousy night. I did manage to sleep but have woken early to a coughing fit & retreated to the sofa to leave hubby sleeping. Just seen on the BBC news that Whitney Houston had died aged 48. Found in her hotel room.

Twinky x

Morning Twinky. Hope the cough has eased a bit this morning, after your initial coughing fit. It is so sad to hear of somebody so young losing their life. I haven’t put the TV on so my husband can get even more sleep. I think he is Rip van winkle. Are the I laws the ones with a cat fountain or am I muddling them ?
Soupertrouper how are the cramps!
I think it is time for a brew, but the heating has only just switched itself on and the bed is warm. I have a large whole shoulder of pork to put in the Aga to slow cook for a late lunch. The garlic, ginger, five spice and all spice should have soaked in overnight. At least the kitchen will be warmish. Up I get.
Cackles

Oh yes Cackles…the cat fountain people…say no more! Not spoken to
Them since they visited me in hospital the day after my op ( now 3 weeks ago). Wish I could just stay here in bed…

I managed some sleep eventually and the stomach cramps have stopped. Stayed in bed until now just resting as there is nothing in particular to get up for. I really hate it when something (and some times nothing) stops me getting my sleep.

Anybody around this morning? My bones are majorly achy. Have taken tramadol and was just dozing off but oh wS snoring and can’t get comfy now. I am pretty tired though so think I will drop off soon so long as the monster from the deep doesn’t go on another major snore-Fest!

Hi Lulu,
I’ve not been here before but a lazy day and an aching leg have got together to keep me up. OH has just marched downstairs in a huff because the light was still on - when he is reading in the middle of the night I just pull the duvet over my head and sleep on. On the rare nights when I’m restless and he is sleepy, having my bedside lamp on is a hanging offence! Now he’s down watching tv - something about WW 2 no doubt. I get the feeling he’s sorry he missed it by being born in 1950. I swear he could write the definitive history, he’s watched and read so much about it!
After avoiding most of my family for weeks because everyone is coughing, I’ve managed to catch a cold just ahead of FEC 4. Sore throat before 3 was sign of low neuts and put treatment back a week. Could do without another pause. Thought Neulasta jab would keep me from harm but there’s so much about there was always going to be a bug with my name on it.
Hope your pains are settling down and that your OH is sleeping quietly.
All the best,
Kathleen

Evening all :o)

Hiya Super, Tinky and Lulu, here’s hoping your not here and tcked up in bed now.

I’m sitting here, cuppa in hand, feeling sorry for myself, although strangely normal, although have a stinking cold (many thanks Ashy ) I am trying to be normal, so she deosn’t feel bad about giving it to me, can’t be helped, although funny as all the people I have put off cause of having a cold lol…At least I can cough properly. My chest was so flemmy that it was horrid not being able to cough it up.

Just talen some paracetamol, am going to check temp, as I’m on chemo and phone up to see what to do, wheather to stop it or what.

Isn’t it odd how OHs can sleep through anything…I forgot to say good morning Cackles, your pork sound yummy, I luv five spice, reminds me to get some as I use it in my family favorite, sticky chicken or anything that needs a marinade…five spice, honey, tom ketchup and soy sauce…mix up and marinade all different things and tstes great whatever meat you use…

Hope your pain is easing Super, thats one thing I can’t complain about, I’m lucky, so far to be pain free although having lived with it that last year, I do know how you feel, its just lovely not to have it now…Its obviously going to happen at some stage as thats the first question the doctors ask.
I think I’ finish my tea, it alwsys ends up cold after I have written this lol…perhaps I will type less, drink more, although the microwave is always handy :o)

Sleep well all, I did from 9pm, so pretty wide awake as the doc says I am to carry on on 1 lot of steroids cause they will help with the cold.
