Hi Poppy.
do take them, I was afraid of taking them at first. but i’m sure this is the only reason I get some sleep. They are usually non addictive i think nowerdays, well thats what they tell you on th leaflet.
Hope they do the trick…I now have an inhailer and a nebuliser coming tomorrow, so i can breathe more easily, as i have a cold. I also have a hospital like bed coming in 3 days, what service…

Snuggled up on the sofa watching the 54th Grammy Awards. I’ve got to throw this bad chest off and get back to writing & recording songs soon. It’s easy to lose yourself a bit when fighting cancer because it’s one seemingly never ending round of hospital appointments but I mustn’t forget there’s still me in there somewhere!
Here’s hoping the lack of posts here means that everyone is asleep!

Your OH sounds similar to mine he loves everything about ww2 and always watching the history channels. He doesn’t like me having the light on either and complains Iv kept him awake all night while he lies snoring keeping me awake! I use my iPhone now cos it has it’s own light so doesn’t disturb him but he is still snoring lol
Twinkly hope you get some sleep soon.
I went to bed before midnight which is very early for me but woke up about 1.30 in agony. Very very painful back which I think is a result of the tax as its muscular. Popping pills like sweeties but it’s not helped much so far.
My mouth is sore too and very dry and taste uss are detaching! Lovely!
Clare I hope your inhalers and nebs help with your breathing. And that you can get a decent sleep in your new bed.
Poppy if not sleeping is getting you down then do try the meds your GP has given you. You don’t even need to take them all the time but every now and then when you need to catch up on your sleep.
Take care night owls

GGGGGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
GGGGGGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I am so cross, did you notice?
There I was in the world of sleep, XOH shook me by the shoulders to wake me as my breathing sounded noisey and laboured…Grrrrrrrr Well wouldn’t yours be if you had a chest infection!!!
Got back to sleep again and just woken up for the loo and a cuppa, so much for a good night, I could scream… I know he was only being thoughtful but at least I was breathing enough to sleep and was asleep.
So here I am again… hope all you others have gone back to dreamland.

The second night I cant sleep! I’ve even been to work but obviously not worked hard enough!
Hubby is snoring, how is it that he can fall asleep on the edge of a twopence coin, whilst the most comfy bed in the world is at my command and i’m wide awake?
Did anyone watch Panorama last night? So many people in America are losing their homes, and tent cities are springing up all over the shop. One chap needed a hernia op, quoted 20,000, so obviously no op. How many people out there with BC are not getting treated because they cant afford it?
We are sooo fortunate to have the NHS, British people dont realise how lucky they are. But what’s with all the latest complaints about it?
Complain one too many times and it’ll all be disbanded and then we’ll all need our own private health insurance.
Why are people complaining about Granny not getting a cup of tea, or Grandad not liking his food, or Freddie waiting an hour or three in A&E??
If you are so concerned that your loved ones arent being cared for to your ‘high’ standards, why don’t you come up to the hospital, and help them to eat, bring in their favourite food, give them a hair wash and trim their nails?? WHY just stand there and complain to the already stretched nurses?
Well , where did that come from, Truddles? Tired now, night night!
I’m up too, so flipping annoying!
I hope all you other ‘Up all Nighters’ have managed to get to sleep.
Sweet dreams. x
Awww Clare that is soooo annoying! Hope you do Manage to get settled again and get a few more hours sleep.
Must admit though to doing something similar to OH who snores like a tank and when not snoring breathes very loud and very fast. And one day woke up and could hear him so though he had got up so was patting his side of the bed to see but instead poked him in the face by mistake. Lol he wasn’t happy… Then neither was I cos he started snoring again. So he laughs that I wake him when he makes too much. Kiss to tell him to stop snoring and now I wake him up when he is quiet too.
Tussles it’s such a shame in other places where they cannot afford treatment. It’s like going back in time really. I hope the new health care proposals will help those who are less fortunate. We are lucky in the uk but it still isn’t free as we do pay our national insurance but I hope thry don’t try to privatise healthcare here which the government seems to be trying to do by the back door. But I’m certainly glad of the system we have here.
As for bad staff unfortunately you do get some bad doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff and it’s important that people complain if the treatment is substandard but I do think people sometimes expect much more of the nhs than is realistic. I think communication and care are the two main issues that need to be great, other things will make life easier but I think there is a big risk of us turning to the sue culture in the US.
Libby hope you get some sleep too hunny.
Lulu. Xx
I couldn’t agree more Truddles…I have had sugested by a doctor to have a hospital bed to help me raise it to get out and not sit with so many pillows, and like magic, it is coming in 3 days…no cost to me and they are sending an occupational health lady to assess my needs for any extra equipment I may need…I am so impressed as they really do seem to care for my comfort 100%.
They also seem to understand that I don’t want to be admitted, so thats another step forward too.
My team is wonderful, I didn’t realise how efficient the NHS was untill you see them in action :o) They all liase together about me and do the best they can.
So hats off to them…

Truddles, I had to laugh at your rant…are you a bit tetchy tonight through lack of sleep? I did see Panorama and was disgusted, in a country of America’s wealth no-one should be living in a tent, and everyone ought to be entitled to free medical and hospital care. It’s a country of extremes, some very poor people and some mega wealthy, I don’t understand it, the super rich should be taxed more to enable the poor to have free health care. There were families with children living in tents too, the powers that be ought to be ashamed.
You are so right about us being lucky to have the NHS, and I agree that families could do more to help their relatives who are in Hospital.
I hope you manage to switch off from the two issues, otherwise you won’t sleep! Sweet dreams.
Eeh, the things we debate in the middle of the night!
Hope you get some relief from backache Lulu, it’s a miserable pain. x
Clare, how flipping annoying for you to be woken from a good night’s sleep. Bet you can’t wait for your new bed, hopefully you’ll be more comfortable in it. x
Hope we all manage some shut eye soon.
Hello all you UAN ers. Another one here. Not been to sleep at all.
Me neither Choccie.
CT scan tomorrow, celebrated valentines with a meal i made for my darling plus strawberries dipped in chocolate with champagne. fed up of this not able to sleep as soon as my head its the pillow, give me daylight then i can sleep for england!
off to blog my feelings.
hugs to all that need them. X sue X
I am so very tired but inside of head too busy. :-
try sleeping on the settee Chocciemuffin, the head doesn’t seem to wake the same as it does in bed!!
Here I am again, grrrrrrrrrr!
I NEED some sleep, where’s that flipping sleep fairy - the idle imp.
Libby and CM have you spoken to your GP about your insomnia? If its getting to you the may have something to help. I have had insomnia for over 10 years so doesn’t actually bother me if I don’t sleep cos I just catch up another time… I’m not in major pain tonight so that makes me feel better too.
I take it you have done all the usual things like warm milky drinks. Making sure your room is not to hot and not too cold etc. I used to sleep with a note pad and pencil under my pillow so I could write down the random thoughts fling my mind. Often things I remembered I had to do as soon as my head hit the pillow. Like go to the bank or call my freind in Ireland. Neither I’d which I could do at midnight. But writing them down for the next days to do list did help… If I could decipher my writing lol
Sue good luck with your CT scan and glad you enjoyed your day. I don’t do valentines day but just vegged on the sofa and had mince and tatties for tea.

Up again it,s 4am, will i ever sleep all night again lol, good job i can nap during the day. My drain has been in for 1 week now and still draining about 100ml per day but its really sore now so i think its coming out later today. I,ve been told to try nytol or night nurse to help with sleep but up to now have resisted, isn,t it strange the things you think about during the night. X
Awww megsmum like your little poem. I’m sure you will sleep all night again at some point after the drain comes out. Fingers crossed its coming out today… Maybe it’s worthwhile having some if those remedies in so if you haven’t go to sleep by a cartain time you could try them.
The last few nights I have got to sleep surprisingly early for me but then woken during the night and been awake for a few hours. But I eventually get back over and then just have a long lie or an afternoon nap.
Take care
